Let us introduce, Jesus.
There would be some that would tell you it all started in a barn with a manger. And Christmas is the time we celebrate the coming of Jesus to dwell among mankind. But the story of Jesus goes way back before then. Within the Gospel according to John he gives the account in John 1:1. John tells us, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Then in verse 14 he goes on to say, "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John tells us how Jesus was there at creation. This world we live in has never known a time that Jesus wasn't looking over her.
Jesus was not only with God at creation, but Jesus was God.
So the time we celebrate at Christmas when God became flesh and dwelt among us, is when God allowed mankind to experience himself face to face. Up until this moment nobody had ever seen God.
Jesus was raised in a Jewish home and taught the teachings of the Jewish people. At the age of twelve Jesus was found teaching in the temple courts. This amazing child grew up working in his step-father's carpentry shop. Not just learning a trade, but also studying and learning from Old Testament Prophecy as to just what his future would hold.
Jesus faced his three year ministry with a life time of biblical study under his belt. Words that gave him strength to face Satan and a cross. Not just any cross, but your cross. Jesus faced your cross and paid the payment required for your sin debt. Jesus paid the way, so that you could go free.
Jesus faced the cross, and died. However, the story doesn't end there. Three days later he rose from the dead. Sin and Death were conquered.
Jesus then ascended up into heaven where he reigns with God the Father. And one day, maybe soon, Jesus will return to this earth and claim his bride. The Bride of Christ, the church. And that's where we come into the story. We are his bride. Those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior will be gathered up and taken home. And we will reign with him, forever.
