Don't Forget, Remember
A wise man once said, "You can remember more with the dullest pencil, than the sharpest mind." Forgetting seems to be our strong point as humans. Though there is a wealth of information that we all hold between our ears, there is still a lot of things we just can't remember. The name of our second grade teacher. Our old phone number from childhood. When did you get the oil changed in your car last.
The list just goes on of things you can't recall. God being the Creator knows the limits of our brains. But there is one thing he doesn't want you to ever forget. He loves you, and His Son died for you. So within His Word he established a plan for you to remember. Every week he requires that His Church come together and gather around a table of remembrance.
The table is simple. It has trays of juice and bread. The bread represents the body that was broken on the cross, and the juice represents the blood that was shed on Calvary's hill. Each week during our service baptized followers of Jesus come to the table to partake of the emblems. In doing so we remember the sacrifice that was made for us.
So this week in your busy life when you utter the phrase "I can't remember", let that trigger a reminder to you to be in God's House this Sunday to be at The Table. You want to make sure that you never forget.......... Jesus died for you.
We'll meet you at the table.
